Have You Read Any of These Laura Numeroff Books

Let's See How Many Laura Numeroff books you have read ...

Yesterday I was the Children's Librarian in the Children's room at the Carnegie Library in Oakland. I had the most delightful time.

There was a mother who came into the library requesting books by Laura Numeroff. I found several for her that I am listing below.

Let us know if you have read any of these books and if there are others that we should include in the list.

If You Give a Moose A Muffin - By Laura Numeroff and Illustrated by Felicia Bond

If a big hungry moose comes to visit, you might give him a muffin to make him feel at home. If you give him a muffin, he'll want some jam to go with it. When he's eaten all your muffins, he'll want to go to the store to get some more muffin mix.

What Aunts Do Best/What Uncles Do Best (flip side book)- by Laura Numeroff and Illustrated by Lynn Munsinger

Aunts can do lots of things, like take you on rides at the amusement park, tell silly jokes, and help you pick out new shoes at the mall. There are so many things that aunts do, but what do they do best?

Uncles can do lots of things, like win prizes for you at the amusement park, play the piano with you, and help you draw. There are so many things that uncles can do, but what do they do best?

If You Give a Dog a Donut - By Laura Numeroff and Illustrated by Felicia Bond

If you give a dog a donut, he’ll ask for some apple juice to go with it.
When you give him the juice, he’ll drink it all up.
Then, before you can say “Woof” . . . Dog is off on a backyard adventure!

What Mommies Do Best / What Daddies Do Best - Illustrated by Lynn Munsinger (Flip this book for two books in one)

Mommies can do lots of things, like teach you how to ride a bike, sew a loose button on your teddy bear, and read you a cozy bedtime story. But what do they do best?

Daddies can do lots of things, like bake a birthday cake, play with you in the park, and take you trick-or-treating. But what do they do best? Read the lovely story and find out.

When Sheep Sleep by Laura Numeroff and Illustrated by McPhail

When you can't fall asleep,
they try counting sheep!

But what do you do if the sheep are asleep?

Count deer in the forest
Instead of the sheet.
Together all nuzzled,
They don't make a peep!

Count cows in the meadow
Instead of the sheep.
But under the moonlight,
They've fallen asleep!

What happens when a small child who can't fall asleep counts sheep and other animals and finds that they are all asleep... You will have to read this beautifully illustrated tale that is so warm and fuzzy that you won't be able to put it down. This is great for any story time... This will be a great addition to any home, school, public, library!

A children's book a day, keeps the scary monster away!
