Daddy Hug
by
Tim Warnes and Illustrated by Jane Chapman
Daddies come in all shapes and sizes—slimy and scruffy, long and fluffy! And daddies make all different kinds of noises—squeak and chirp, buzz and bumble! But what do all daddies have in common? They make us feel safe and snug with tender daddy hugs!
This lovely happy rhyming book shows different animal fathers interacting with their children.
Daddy spiky... (porcupine) Daddy fluffy... (ostrich)
Daddy Giant... Daddy jiggle (walrus)
Bouncy Daddy... happy giggle (bunnies, lambs, rams)
Daddy busy (hummingbird) ... Daddy strong (gorilla)..Daddy slimy (snail)... Daddy long (snake)
Daddy splish... daddy splash... (geese) Daddy wobble (salamander) ... Daddy crash (elephant)
Daddy safe... daddy snug... (lions) daddy tender... Daddy snug (various animal fathers with their children).
I did a sing-along with my students during story time! We pretended that we were all of the animals in this beautiful children's book.
What a clever way to teach children about animals through short, happy, colorful words that rhyme! The pictures are warm and cuddly. To view some of the pictures, you must turn the book sideways. How brilliant.
This is one of the best Father's Day books that I have ever read and seen! What a delightfully clever children's book! I loved the theme, the layout, the words, and of course... the pictures too. This is a must have children's book!
Add it to your personal school, and family library as soon as possible before next Father's day!
Until the next time!
Happy Reading!!!!!!!!!!
A children's book a day, keeps the scary monster away!
